On December 24, 2024, the much-anticipated 2024 Convention on Exchange of Overseas Talents and 26th Guangzhou Convention of Overseas Chinese Scholars in Science and Technology was grandly opened at Guangzhou Nansha International Convention & Exhibition Center. Focused on the construction of a "one-stop service platform for overseas talent projects throughout the life cycle", and themed around "gathering strength from the world to create the future", this year's Convention on Exchange of Overseas Talents aims to bring together global talents for joint innovation and development. A total of 20,000 job requirements were released online and offline, with the aim to build a market-oriented full-chain service for overseas talents returning to China for innovation and entrepreneurship, providing a full range of resource connection, business incubation and employment counseling.

Centering around theme of "Huadu Hub for In-depth Promotion of the Growth Pole in the North of Guangzhou", Huadu fully displayed the District's geographic advantages, characteristics of industries, and development potential. As the north gateway of Guangzhou and the only large-scale air-rail dual hub in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Huadu District has become a new growth pole and power house for the development of the northern part of Guangzhou by virtue of its unique geographical location and abundant resources.

In recent years, Huadu District has actively followed the strategic positioning of "the growth pole of northern Guangzhou", endeavored to "base the District on intelligent manufacturing", and committed to building three advanced manufacturing clusters in accordance with the spatial layout of "one axis, one core, four belts and multiple clusters". It is worth noting that the "200-billion yuan automobile industry cluster" has emerged as an important pillar industry of Huadu District, attracting a number of well-known automobile companies home and abroad. At the same time, the "100-billion yuan intelligent electronics industry cluster" and the "100-billion yuan airport-based high-tech industrial cluster" are also growing rapidly, which fuels the rapid economic growth of Huadu District.

In the exhibition area of Huadu District, two exhibitors, Hongli Display Electronics and Valeo, stood out as the focus of the scene. Valeo Comfort Driving Assistance Systems (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Valeo Group, France; it provides high-quality products and services to global automakers using its leading position in the field of electrification and smart cockpits. Hongli Display Electronics focuses on the R&D, production and sales of Mini/Micro LED display products, which are widely used in VR glasses, game consoles, laptops, TVs, and vehicles among others, and the company has made breakthroughs in the field of automotive Mini LED backlight.

A leader of Guangzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau visit Huadu's exhibition area and had in-depth exchanges and interactions with enterprise representatives. He spoke highly of the achievements of Huadu District in attracting overseas talents and making innovative development, and said that the Bureau would continue to support the development of Huadu District and would jointly promote innovative development and industrial upgrading.

In addition to the industrial characteristics and corporate highlights of Huadu District, the exhibition area also showcased the efforts made by the District in attracting and retaining outstanding talents. In order to attract global talents, Huadu District has issued a series of preferential policies, covering a variety fields, such as green finance, housing for talents, IPO support, pro-business and enterprise, specialized, refined, differentiated, and innovative (SRDI), and incubation carriers.
